Abstract

Sound imitation is considered a phenomenon in the Arabic language that demonstrates the depth of linguistic and semantic interconnections. It transcends the boundaries of linguistic context, creating a psychological and semantic shift in poetic text. This phenomenon aims to establish a correlation between the repetition of sounds within a single word and its meanings, as well as the resultant connotations that help illuminate the obscure points in the poetic text. The sound imitation had an impact on the poetry of Rasheed Saleem Al-Khoury, enhancing its poetic and stylistic value.
