Abstract

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the role of digital communication through social platforms in achieving psychological stability and social adaptation among female university residence students. The research problem was formulated as follows: What is the role of digital communication through social platforms in achieving psychological stability and social adaptation among female university residence students?

Methodology: The study employed the descriptive-analytical approach. The study population consisted of female students residing in the university housing at Dhofar University, with a total population of 1,654 students. The stratified random sample was size was determined using Steven Thompson’s equation, resulting in a sample of (312) female students.

Results: The study concluded that the psychological stability dimension was at a high level, and the social adaptation dimension was also at a high level. The findings revealed statistically significant differences in psychological stability and social adaptation attributed to the variables of academic year and duration of residence in university housing. However, no statistically significant differences were found in psychological stability and social adaptation based on the college variable.

Conclusions: The findings indicate that digital communication through social platforms contributes to enhancing psychological stability and social adaptation among female university residence students. This role is influenced by academic year and duration of residence, while no differences were found based on college affiliation. The results highlight the importance of positively utilizing digital platforms to support mental well-being and promote social integration within the university environment.
